Assistant Development Manager

About the role

Reporting to and working alongside the Director and Project Director, this full-time Senior Assistant Development Manager position offers you the opportunity to rapidly grow your property development and client side project management skills, experience, critical thinking and commercial acumen. With a secured pipeline of smaller to precinct scale Perth build form developments for both external consultancy and internal clients spanning multi residential, community infrastructure, aged care and retirement living your professional growth is limited purely by your own potential

The renumeration package is flexible dependent on the strength and experience of the successful applicant. We are ideally seeking a Senior / experienced client side Assistant Development (or Project) Manager but would also consider a junior Development (or Project) Manager should they possess the required skills and experience. While the recruitment processed won't be rushed, we are looking to fill this position immediately.

What you'll be doing

• Assisting the Director and Project Director in overseeing the end-to-end delivery of development projects, from feasibility analysis and site acquisition through to design, sales and marketing, approvals, construction administration, settlement / handover and post occupancy
• Conducting market research, financial modelling and feasibility analysis to support new development opportunities
• Managing the preparation of development applications and liaising with the full suite of consultants, client representatives and government authorities to obtain necessary approvals
• Coordinating and overseeing the work of consultants, contractors and other stakeholders involved in the development process
• Monitoring project budgets, timelines and risks, and reporting on progress
• Managing the client side contract administration of live construction projects such as builder liaison and inspections, processing of design and other contract changes, monthly progress claims and bank drawdowns, consultant liaison and coordination, interface with client, sales and marketing
• Gain insights to and support corporate structuring and development entity administration

What we're looking for

• 3-5 years' post-graduate experience in a similar client side project and development management roles, ideally gained on built form projects
• Experience in the delivery of multi residential, retirement living and/or aged care will be highly valued
• Strong understanding and experience with Office 365 Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and ideally MS Project
• Strong analytical and financial modelling skills, with the ability to maintain and update Excel based project cost plans and feasibilities
• Excellent project management skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders and competing priorities
• Demonstrated understanding of the planning and approvals process for commercial developments
• Effective communication and stakeholder management skills
• A relevant tertiary qualification in property or construction management
• Demonstrated ability to work in a nimble, fast passed environment with low levels of supervision
• Someone with high integrity, work ethic and professional maturity
