Job Description
As the Grooming State Manager, you will oversee the performance, operations, and growth of grooming salons across Victoria. You'll play a pivotal role in leading and supporting salon teams, ensuring exceptional grooming standards, customer service, and business performance are consistently delivered. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring a deep understanding of the grooming industry, strong people management skills, and the ability to drive operational excellence across multiple locations.

A Peek Into Your Petstock Day

  • Lead and manage salon managers and grooming teams across all locations in the state
  • Ensure grooming quality, animal welfare, and hygiene standards are consistently upheld
  • Monitor and drive salon performance against key metrics (revenue, appointments, customer satisfaction, etc.)
  • Recruit, onboard, and train new team members; support ongoing skill development
  • Provide coaching, feedback, and performance management to individuals and teams
  • Support salons with rostering, inventory management, and compliance requirements
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and implement process or service enhancements
  • Collaborate with national leadership on strategy, promotions, and expansion plans
  • Resolve customer escalations and maintain a high level of service delivery
  • Ensure salons are compliant with all relevant health, safety, and animal care regulations

  • Proven experience managing multi-site teams in a grooming, retail, or service-based business
  • Previous grooming experience preferred
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and people development skills
  • Business acumen – comfortable managing KPIs, budgets, and operational targets
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making ability under pressure
  • Passion for animals and commitment to animal welfare
  • Confident using scheduling systems, POS, or grooming salon software
