Batmac Constructions Pty Ltd is currently seeking a motivated individual to join our team as a Service and Compliance Manager.
With over 30 years of experience, Batmac Constructions has established itself as a highly successful company in the Construction and Commercial Building Maintenance industry. Since its inception in August 1994, Batmac Constructions has been headquartered in Nowra and has grown to become one of the largest and most trusted building companies on the South Coast.
We have offices conveniently located in Unanderra and North Nowra, enabling us to efficiently undertake Commercial Projects, Large Scale Residential Projects, and Commercial Maintenance Works within the regions we serve. These areas include the Shoalhaven, Illawarra, Eurobodalla, and Southern Highlands.
The location of this position will be determined based on the residency of the successful candidate, with options at either our North Nowra or Unanderra offices.
The Service and Compliance Manager is responsible for managing day-to-day service operations while ensuring compliance with statutory, safety, environmental, and quality standards. This includes maintaining and improving company systems, including the computerised project and asset management systems, to support efficient service delivery and ongoing accreditation.
Overview of Responsibilities:
- Ensure the workplace adheres to established policies, procedures, objectives, and standards, continuously improving them as required.
- Maintain evidence for annual external surveillance and re-certification audits to uphold ISO accreditation.
- Ensure the Company meets or surpasses all statutory requirements, keeping abreast of relevant laws and regulations.
- Continuous development, implementation, and maintenance of the Company's Accredited Management System, ensuring compliance with AS/NZS ISO Occupational Health & Safety), AS/NZS ISO Environmental), and AS/NZS ISO 9001 (Quality) standards.
- Conduct regular internal audits, site inspections, and compliance reviews, preparing clear reports.
- Develop and monitor action plans to address safety, service, and compliance deficiencies identified from audits.
- Develop, implement, and maintain company-wide systems and processes to support service delivery and compliance.
- Oversee the development, integration, and upkeep of computerised project and asset management systems, ensuring accuracy, security, and usability.
- Provide user training and support to staff for system utilisation and efficiency.
- Establish and maintain record systems for documents, forms, templates, and registers (e.g., training and competency, licences, electrical equipment, PPE inspections and allocation).
- Ensure internal and client-based inductions, ensuring accurate records are maintained.
- Identify staff training needs and deliver training through inductions, refresher courses, toolbox talks, or targeted programs.
- Assist in investigating incidents, accidents, and near misses, determining root causes, and developing corrective action plans.
- Promote and foster a culture of safety, compliance, service excellence, and continuous improvement.
- Assist with other office and operational duties as assigned.
Typical Qualifications and Experience
- Relevant Compliance Qualification (i.e. ICA Diploma, Cert IV or equivalent)
- Experience within a similar role and industry
- Working knowledge of implementing and maintaining ISO systems and standards.
- Previous experience with Construction and Document Management Software.
- Data entry and word processing skills (format and proof-read reports, letters, etc using word and develop and maintain Excel spreadsheets)
- Advanced computer skills
- Driver's Licence
