We're looking for a creative, connected and commercially savvy Sales & Promotions Manager to drive business growth, especially targeting Canberra's wider corporate and events market.
The Role
As our Sales & Promotions Manager, you'll take ownership of building strategic relationships, driving targeted campaigns, and filling our venue with engaged, high-value audiences — from weekday lunches and private functions to major outdoor concerts and experiences.
Proactive Lead Conversion & Direct Outreach
A key part of this role involves proactively driving outbound sales through direct calling. You'll be expected to:
- Maintain a structured call cycle for key corporate accounts, business park tenants, and potential partners.
- Develop tailored proposals based on client needs, with follow-up calls to secure bookings.
- Use CRM systems to track communication, manage your pipeline, and report on progress.
Your confidence on the phone and ability to build rapport quickly will be crucial in converting interest into confirmed business across restaurant functions, corporate events, and large scale outdoor activations.
Other Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement sales strategies to attract lunches, meetings, and functions.
- Design promotions and activations tailored to the corporate market, including express lunch programs, client entertainment, and team building events.
- Work closely with the marketing team to promote upcoming large scale outdoor events and concerts.
- Build partnerships with Canberra's business community, industry groups, and tourism stakeholders.
- Manage and nurture the venue's sales pipeline, from initial enquiry to confirmed booking.
- Represent the venue at trade, tourism, and business networking events.
- Report on sales activity, growth targets, and ROI of promotions and campaigns.
What You'll Bring
- Proven success in a sales, promotions, or business development role (ideally in hospitality, events, or tourism).
- Strong local Canberra business networks, with a focus on corporate and government sectors.
- A passion for creating memorable experiences through food, wine, and entertainment.
- Confidence to sell to key decision-makers and pitch high-value experiences.
- Excellent communication, relationship-building and negotiation skills.
- Strong commercial awareness and a results driven mindset.
