About the role

Heavy Logistics and Mechanical Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Boilermaker to join our team in Bowen, Queensland. This is a position where you will be responsible for the fabrication, repair, and maintenance of heavy structural steel components and other metal structures. You will be working alongside a skilled team to ensure the safe and efficient operation of our equipment.

What you'll be doing

  1. Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications to fabricate, assemble, and repair boilers, pressure vessels, and metal structures
  2. Operate welding equipment, cutting torches, and other metalworking tools to fabricate and repair components
  3. Conduct inspections and maintenance to ensure compliance with safety regulations
  4. Collaborate with the engineering team to identify and resolve issues with equipment
  5. Maintain detailed records of all work performed
  6. Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures

What we're looking for

  1. Trade qualification as a Boilermaker or equivalent
  2. Minimum 3 years' experience as a Boilermaker in an industrial or manufacturing environment
  3. Proficient in a range of welding techniques, including MIG, TIG, and stick welding
  4. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
  5. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
  6. Familiarity with relevant safety regulations and the ability to work safely
  7. Excellent problem-solving and communication skills

  • Residency in the local area is required and must be provided by the successful applicant.

Qualifications & experience

  • Confined Spaces qualifications
  • Standard 11 (Desirable)
  • GCAA Level 2 Boilermaking qualification (desirable)
  • Health Assessment (Desirable)
  • Manual Drivers Licence
