Role Overview:A top-tier law firm has partnered with Elevate to offer a fantastic opportunity to join a leading financial institution for a secondment on an eight-month contract. The role will involve providing expert advice on legal matters related to transaction banking for business customers, including digital channels, payments, receivables, and financial services.The role will commence in January 2026, with the option for full-time or part-time work based in Sydney, offering flexibility within a hybrid working arrangement.Key Responsibilities:Provide strategic legal advice on product and service innovations, including offerings delivered via APIs and other digital platforms, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and commercial objectives.Support and lead contractual negotiations with various stakeholders in the payment's ecosystem, focusing on risk mitigation, compliance, and commercial viability.Deliver comprehensive legal guidance on banking and financial services matters, including advice on product migration, operational changes, and customer-facing initiatives within a regulated environment.Draft, review, and refine customer agreements, both standard form and bespoke contracts tailored for large institutional clients, ensuring clarity, enforceability, and regulatory compliance.Manage regulatory and compliance-related issues, including classification of new products, incident response, remediation planning, and navigating regulatory changes or industry mandates, while collaborating with internal stakeholders and external regulatorsAbout You:A minimum of 5 years of experience in private practice or in-house legal counsel roles.Ability to assess complex legal issues and provide clear, commercially viable solutions.Experience in providing legal support in financial services, public sector finance, or technology industry legal matters.Expert drafting and negotiation skills across complex commercial and financial agreements.Experience working with complex, regulated transactions and government entities will be highly regarded.Strong knowledge of corporate law, public sector regulation, and financial services law.To apply:If you are qualified, interested, and available, please send the following toAnusha – Your updated/ most recent resume *please ensure it has your email address and phone number.An email stating how your experience relates to the requirements above.About ElevateElevate's global Community of Talent is made up of highly qualified lawyers and legal professionals with solid technical training and experience drawn from leading law firms and law departments.
