
Data Solutions Advisor, Transport and Main Roads

Some of your responsibilities will include:
- Monitoring and maintaining databases, tables, and data pipelines within TSAM's data environments, working with the Oracle databases, SQL Server databases, and AWS cloud environment, ensuring data is accurate, up-to-date, and compliant with data governance and information security guidelines.
- Developing and implementing quality, fit-for-purpose solutions to ingest, integrate, process, and make available data from various sources using a variety of ETL, data integration and data visualisation tools and techniques, to support asset management planning and decision-making, and network-wide reporting and analysis.
- Provide guidance to other team members and assist with responding to data requests from internal and external customers, including collaboration with customers to clarify and document requirements, developing SQL queries to extract and transform data from Oracle or SQL Server databases, and ensuring data is delivered accurately, in the required format, within agreed timeframes.
- Creating and maintaining high-quality documentation, such as data dictionaries, metadata guides, and governance processes, to ensure alignment with information security, data quality, and compliance standards.
- Building and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships, including providing operational support to data users to ensure data solutions meet business needs, and collaborating with other technical experts in TMR to identify opportunities for process improvements.
To thrive in this role, you will need to demonstrate the following:
- Demonstrated experience and proficiency in managing and maintaining data environments and operational data processes, including with Oracle, SQL Server, AWS cloud platforms, ETL tools and processes, data integration, and data pipeline development.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to address data challenges and recommend practical solutions, as well as support asset management planning through accurate and timely data processing, validation, and reporting.
- Proven ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including technical experts and data users, to ensure data solutions meet business needs, and to identify opportunities for solutions and process improvement outcomes.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to develop high-quality documentation and reports.
- A Bachelor's degree in information technology, data science, computer science, or a related field is desirable but not mandatory. Equivalent practical experience will be considered.
