Advance Rockhampton is seeking a proactive and experienced Events Operations Supervisor to lead the operational delivery of Council's public programs and activities. This role is pivotal in increasing community participation, enhancing the reputation of Council's open spaces, and ensuring events are delivered professionally, safely, and within budget.
You'll lead the Events Operations Team, manage stakeholder relationships, oversee procurement and compliance, and contribute to the development of procedures and processes that support Council's strategic goals.

This position requires the completion of a satisfactory Criminal History Check - Police Certificate (Australia Wide Name Only Police Check).
What we are looking for
- Degree qualification in Business or Events Management and/or demonstrated experience in a leadership role delivering public programs and events.
- Proven ability to lead and coordinate a team to achieve outcomes within budget and timeframes.
- Strong planning, project management, and documentation skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
- Experience in procurement, tender development, and supervising staff and volunteers.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, WHS obligations, and Council systems (Finance One, ECM).

Application Criteria
- Degree in Business or Events Management and/or hands-on experience in planning and delivering events, public programs, and activities.
- Proven ability to lead teams effectively, ensuring outcomes are delivered on time and within budget, while fostering a high-performing, results-focused culture.
- Skilled in developing, monitoring, and reviewing program and project budgets to ensure compliance and alignment with organisational plans.
- Demonstrated Knowledge of event compliance requirements eg. permits, insurance, risk, traffic and crowd management.
