About the Role
Reporting to the Lead Principal Inbound Maritime Minerals Americas, this role enables the inbound maritime team to operate in a well governed, yet efficient manner, and to provide supply chain expertise in the international inbound freight to our business optimizing the freight choices when procuring goods to deliver bottom line cost savings focusing on the risk lens.
In this role, you will also be responsible for:
- Supporting coordination with Maritime Ops team to ensure smooth shipment management of containerized, break-bulk and bulk cargo.
- Supporting coordination with customs broker and freight forwarders.
- Working with Maritime Inbound team members to offer suitable international logistics solutions to Procurement, Inventory and other final user requirements.
- Applying an understanding of the end-to-end Supply Chain to enhance efficiency, drive optimization, and maximize value.
- Executing and optimizing shipping practices by applying material, ship and port knowledge.
- Applying logistics management procedures and requirements to safely and efficiently meet stakeholder demands.
- Working within a global team based in Americas (Chile, USA and Canada) and Asia and Oceania (Australia, Singapore, Philippines and India).
About You
To be a top performer you will need:
- More than 3+ years' experience in Maritime industry, Logistics or Supply Chain.
- Degree qualified or post graduate qualification studies International Commerce, Maritime Engineering, International Logistics and/or Business Analysis are desirable but not a must.
- Extremely detailed orientated.
- Demonstrated experience in challenging supply chain or logistics arrangements and implementing new ways of working.
- Experience in working with internal & external stakeholders in other locations.
- Advanced English proficiency.
