About the role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Operations Manager to join a market-leader company in the transport and logistics field. You will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of this leading manufacturing, transport and logistics company. This is a pivotal role that will contribute significantly to the overall success and growth of the business.

What you'll be doing

  • Manage the overall operations of the business, including production, inventory, transportation and distribution
  • Develop and implement operational strategies, policies and procedures to improve efficiency and productivity
  • Oversee the work of supervisors and team leaders, providing guidance and support as needed
  • Monitor and analyse key performance indicators to identify areas for improvement
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as sales and finance, to ensure seamless operations
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, safety standards and quality control measures
  • Lead and motivate a team of dedicated operational staff
  • Identify and implement innovative solutions to optimise workflows and drive continuous improvement

What we're looking for

  • Experience in a similar operations management role, preferably within the manufacturing, transport or logistics industry
  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a keen eye for detail
  • Proficient in data analysis and the use of operational management software
  • Thorough understanding of industry regulations, safety protocols and quality standards
  • Tertiary qualification in Operations Management, Supply Chain Management or a related field is preferred not required
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
