About the Role

The Clinical Lead – Central Coast Multi-Agency Response Centre (CCMARC) and Child Wellbeing is a diverse role and a key leader in the Districts response to vulnerable children and families. Working in partnership with DCJ, Child Wellbeing Units and other key partners to collaborate in the multiagency decision making, planning and response, the role requires the supervision and mentoring of the CCMARC Health team. The team shares information through established processes but also participates in complex case discussions, planning, referral and care navigation.

  • The position also provides a co-ordination function within the District to enhance child wellbeing and to improve child protection responses to vulnerable children, young people and their families, particularly where concerns are raised by mandatory reporters via Child Wellbeing Units.
  • The Clinical Lead is pro-active in areas of service development, identifying gaps and opportunities for practice improvement and participates in the delivery of Violence, Abuse and Neglect mandatory training (Child Protection, Domestic Violence and DV Routine screening) and other targeted training to CCLHD staff.
  • They work closely with their managers and colleagues within Violence, Abuse and Neglect Services and more broadly across the health service to facilitate integrated and trauma informed care that is holistic and seamless. They actively support their team to be innovative, culturally safe and evidence based to develop and deliver effective and sound interventions that operationalise the NSW Health Prevention and Response to Violence Abuse and Neglect (PARVAN) Framework, Service Standards and relevant Policy and Procedures

About You

We are looking for someone who has:

  • A degree in Social Work from an accredited course and eligibility for membership to the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) (overseas qualifications must supply the AASW Overseas Assessment number). A demonstrated understanding of the current AASW Practice Standards as they relate to the position.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in and understanding of child protection principles and practice in a health context, demonstrated knowledge in legislation, relevant Acts and NSW Health policies in regard to violence, abuse and neglect.
  • Demonstrated skills in team leadership, providing clinical supervision and practice development, including advanced skills in communication with experience in reviewing and developing policy, implementing service standards and guidelines.
