About the role

The Learning & Development Officer, under the supervision of the Manager, Learning & Development, coordinates training and professional development activities. The role contributes to learning experiences that are explicitly connected to place and respect Aboriginal ways of knowing, being and doing.

Duties

  • Undertake routine correspondence, file management, telephone and email enquiries for training activities.
  • Take responsibility for ensuring all resources are in place for on time and on budget training.
  • Coordinate and schedule employee training per approved requests and requirements.
  • Plan and organize face-to-face training sessions, including but not limited to first aid and CPR, manual handling etc.
  • Understand and use available technologies to maximise efficiencies and effectiveness of training at JNC.
  • Monitor training compliance among staff members and report training attendance.
  • Work with L&D Manager and operational managers at JNC to assess and address training and development needs, build capability, support staff retention, succession planning and drive a high-performance culture.
  • Participate in the creation and documentation of LMS system standards, policies, and procedures as directed.
  • Ensure all mandatory corporate training programs are compliant with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.

Benefits

  • Permanent position.
  • Starting annual salary of $75,000(depending on qualifications and experience).
  • 12% Super + Not for Profit Salary Packaging (Increases your take home pay).

COVID-19 Requirements

  • Immunization history showing you have received two doses of a Covid 19 vaccine is encouraged.

Required

  • Willingness to learn
  • Have great time management and organisational skills
  • Confident to facilitate to other team members
  • Sound level of interpersonal and intrapersonal skills, including the ability to including the ability to build rapport, communicate information and concepts and facilitate small group activities.
  • Experience using Learning Management Systems or demonstrated knowledge and use of technologies that support effective learning and teaching.
  • NDIS Worker Screening Clearance.

Preferred

  • Hold a relevant certificate or diploma qualification -Certificate IV in Training and Assessment is preferred.
  • Evidence of ability to apply educational, training and staff development strategies in a aged and health care environment.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders communities and experience working within an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Cultural Capability Framework.
  • Understanding of online adult learning and experience in the design, development, and delivery of educational resources and/or training programs.
