Pyrenees Shire Council are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Planning Officer to join the Planning and Development team.
Reporting to the Manager Planning and Development this position plays a vital role in the effective delivery of Council's planning functions.
The Planning Officer is responsible for assessing and administering planning permit applications under the Planning and Environment Act 1987 and the Subdivision Act 1988, as well as providing support for the implementation of Council's strategic planning projects. You'll also support the implementation of Council's strategic planning projects, ensuring statutory and corporate processes are followed.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys collaborative work, is passionate about land use planning, and values building strong relationships with internal teams and the local community to enhance both the built and natural environments.
