  • Experience in network and systems administration, virtualisation technologies (VMware), Microsoft 365, Exchange, Teams, Azure, and scripting/automation tools (e.g., PowerShell, Bash).

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Systems Administrator to join a dynamic ICT team within a federal government organisation. This role is critical in ensuring the smooth operation, maintenance, and support of ICT infrastructure, contributing to the organisation's digital transformation and operational excellence.

Your duties will include:

  • Managing escalated service desk requests and maintaining server and desktop environments.
  • Installing, upgrading, and managing hardware and system software to ensure optimal performance and security.
  • Implementing automation tools and scripts to streamline system administration tasks.
  • Diagnosing and resolving system-related hardware and software issues.
  • Administering and maintaining Active Directory and Azure services for identity and access management.
  • Performing regular backup operations and contributing to disaster recovery strategies.

Skills and Experience we are looking for:

  • Proven experience in administering and supporting Windows Server environments, Active Directory, and Microsoft 365 applications.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for complex technical issues across networks, systems, and applications.
  • Knowledge of IT security principles, including system hardening, access controls, and backup/disaster recovery procedures.
  • Practical knowledge of virtualisation technologies, particularly VMware.
  • Familiarity with Enterprise Mobility Management solutions and scripting/automation tools.
  • Relevant certifications or training in Microsoft, Linux, or related fields (e.g., MCSA, MCSE, CompTIA, RHCSA) are desirable.
