Job Description

Are you passionate about driving software quality through both hands-on testing and building testing communities? Do you thrive on collaborating with engineers to champion best testing practices across teams? If so, we'd love to hear from you

At PaperCut, our Quality team partners closely with Product teams to ensure software excellence through a blend of manual testing, test automation, and performance benchmarking. As a Senior Quality Engineer, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping our approach to quality balancing hands-on exploratory testing with the implementation of automation testing at scale.

This full-time hybrid role reports to our Quality Lead and is based in our Camberwell office three days per week.

Some of the things you'll do...

  • Act as a community builder — engaging with internal teams and external partners to share learnings, advocate for quality, and drive adoption of testing standards.
  • Shape and implement PaperCut's test strategy, identifying areas for improvement and selecting the right tools and frameworks.
  • Develop repeatable tests, including end-to-end, integration, canary, and system regression tests, ensuring ongoing software quality.
  • Partner with Engineers and our Quality Lead to define and monitor performance, load, and scalability benchmarks for our products.
  • Influence and uplift testing capabilities across PaperCut, allowing Engineers to refine automated test suites themselves.
  • Champion strong quality best practices across both manual and automated testing, ensuring consistency and rigour in how we test.
  • Collaborate with our automation team to increase scope and coverage of our automation testing framework.

A little about you...

  • You have experience in a similar role you are experienced designing and implementing test plans that align to product needs.
  • You're passionate about coaching and up skilling Engineers in automation best practices to create a quality-first mindset.
  • You love working in an Agile, collaborative environment where quality is a shared responsibility.
  • You have the ability to jump into projects and take ownership of testing end-to-end, from building testing at a high level through to working with partners and ensuring outcomes are delivered.
  • You are a confident communicator and have the skills to explain testing approaches and work with people across different teams.
  • You're great at building communities, evangelising for test and quality needs.
