Senior Data Engineer – Azure / Databricks

Are you ready to stop maintaining legacy systems and start building something that really matters? Our client is seeking a Senior Data Engineer who wants to own, design, and deliver at scale. This is not a back-office role. Your work will sit at the core of our product, fuelling AI models, powering real-time insights, and shaping decisions across engineering, product, and commercial teams. You will define our data strategy, create scalable pipelines on Azure, and lead the architecture that turns raw data into business impact.

You will be involved: -

  • Set the direction for our data architecture and strategy, with real ownership from day one
  • Build and optimise pipelines that handle everything from government datasets to live property feeds
  • Architect systems that support AI model training, scoring, and predictive analytics
  • Partner with product and commercial leaders to translate market dynamics into data-driven solutions
  • Champion best practice in governance, quality, and observability
  • Mentor the team and elevate our engineering culture

What you bring

  • 7+ years of data engineering experience, including time in senior or lead roles
  • Deep expertise with Microsoft Azure data services (Data Factory, Synapse, Event Hubs, etc.)
  • Strong knowledge of machine learning data pipelines, feature engineering, and Databricks
  • Hands-on skills with Python or .NET for building and integrating services
  • A track record of building high-scale, high-quality data systems that drive real outcomes
