Workplace Manager – Sydney

A global professional services firm is seeking a highly capable
Workplace Manager
to lead its office services functions across Australia. This pivotal role oversees teams across Australia ensuring exceptional service delivery, smooth operations, and a safe and professional workplace environment.

Key Responsibilities

Team & Service Leadership

  • Leadership and management of the national administrative team, ensuring effective coordination and workload management.
  • Manage the Office Services team to deliver exceptional front-of-house, facilities, catering, and administration services.
  • Lead the recruitment and resourcing for the administration team.

Facilities & Office Management

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the Australian offices, ensuring facilities are safe, compliant, and conducive to high performance.
  • Oversee leases, building management relationships, and compliance with operating manuals and regulations.
  • Manage and assess office space requirements, office fit-outs, refurbishments, and team relocations, in collaboration with the General Manager.
  • Ensure continuity of office systems, manage desk allocations, and oversee equipment procurement.
  • Chair the national Work Health & Safety (WHS) committee, ensuring risks are effectively managed in partnership with HR and Compliance.

Procurement & Vendor Management

  • Lead the national procurement strategy, ensuring compliance with global, regional, and local firm policies.
  • Monitor office expenditure, review supplier contracts, and implement cost management strategies.
  • Oversee procurement of all office goods and services, from stationery and catering supplies to major corporate vendor partnerships.
  • Prepare environmental and premises reports for global stakeholders and ensure compliance with audit requirements.

Strategic Contribution & Projects

  • Partner with the Australian Compliance Manager to maintain robust business continuity and risk management plans.
  • Actively identify and recommend operational improvements, including effective use of offshore teams.
  • Engage in cross-functional projects and represent the facilities function in global initiatives.
  • Advocate for the firm's sustainability and responsible business initiatives.

About You

  • Proven team leadership experience, with the ability to inspire, coach, and build collaborative teams.
  • Strong background in office services, facilities, or administration management, ideally within a professional services environment.
  • Practical experience managing lease obligations, building management relationships, and office relocations/refits.
  • Demonstrated procurement and vendor management expertise.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives.
  • High-level problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Confident, professional, and able to remain calm under pressure.
  • Strong IT capability and familiarity with current workplace technologies.
  • Willingness to trave interstate.
