Sydney, New South Wales, Australia Westpac Group Full time $150,000 - $200,000 per year
  • Lead complex credit policy initiatives and contribute to strategic risk projects
  • Collaborate with senior stakeholders and mentor team members across Business Lending Risk
  • Enjoy hybrid work flexibility with a supportive, purpose-driven team in Sydney

What's the role?

We're looking for a Senior Manager to join our Business Lending Risk team and help shape the future of credit policy at Westpac.

You'll lead complex policy initiatives, contribute to strategic projects, and ensure our credit policies are clear, compliant, and aligned with our business goals. You'll also play a key role in mentoring others, managing workflows, and supporting senior leaders with insights and reporting.

This is a hands-on role where you'll simplify policies, support regulatory compliance, and help drive change across the business. If you enjoy working with data, solving problems, and collaborating with others to improve how things are done, this could be a great fit.

This is a permanent fulltime role based in Sydney with flexible working arrangements.

What do I need?

To be successful in this role, you'll bring:

  • Experience working in credit risk or financial services, with a strong understanding of credit origination and evaluation
  • Confidence reviewing credit policies and frameworks, ideally with knowledge of APRA's prudential standards
  • Clear communication skills - you can explain technical ideas to non-technical people
  • A knack for solving problems and spotting opportunities to improve processes
  • Comfortable working in project environments, especially Agile or hybrid setups
  • Familiarity with data tools like Power BI or Tableau, and an interest in using data to drive decisions

Why join us?

We're obsessed with becoming our customers #1 banking partner for life and we're looking for people who are passionate about helping us achieve that goal. In return we're committed to making Westpac the best place to work in the country. Here are just a few of the ways we're already doing that:

  • Special offers on banking products and discounts from top brands, including generous employee-only mortgage rates
  • Flexible work arrangements to help you achieve a greater work/life balance, and a variety of leave options including Culture, Lifestyle and Wellbeing leave.
  • Tailored learning and development opportunities to help your grow your career within the bank.
  • Lots of opportunities to 'give back' to the Community by getting involved in our many volunteering initiatives
