About the Role
  • Play a vital role in supporting individuals on their recovery journey within a residential eating disorder program.
  • Facilitate individual and group art therapy sessions that align with recovery-oriented principles and participants' therapeutic goals
  • Utilise creative interventions to explore themes of identity, self-esteem, body image, and emotional processing in a safe and supportive environment
  • Work autonomously within a small, supportive team, with direct access to leadership and clinical expertise.
  • Collaborate closely with nurses, peer workers, dietitians, and lived experience practitioners in a truly multidisciplinary environment.
  • Contribute to service development and innovation, ensuring best-practice care for participants.
About You
  • Tertiary qualifications in Art Therapy or equivalent (e.g., master's in art therapy) and eligibility for professional membership with the Australian, New Zealand and Asian Creative Arts Therapies Association (ANZACATA).
  • Experience providing art therapy within mental health services, preferably in eating disorder treatment, trauma recovery, or inpatient/residential settings
  • A passion for working with individuals experiencing eating disorders and a commitment to recovery-oriented practice.
  • Experience (or strong interest) in eating disorders across hospital, community, or specialised programs (desirable).
  • Postgraduate qualifications or working towards (desirable).
  • Minimum of two years' post-graduate clinical experience in a mental health or related setting.
  • A strong understanding of the Victorian Mental Health and Wellbeing Act and relevant legislation.
  • Current Victorian Driver License, Working with Children Check, and Background Check.
