The role of a Creative Arts Therapist is to provide therapeutic support to children and young people under 18, along with their families and carers.
This involves using creative modalities such as music, drama and art to help individuals achieve their unique therapeutic goals.
About the RoleAs a Creative Arts Therapist, you will work closely with multidisciplinary colleagues to contribute to the shared goal of improving outcomes for rural children.
You will deliver a mix of individual and group therapy sessions, tailored to meet each child's needs.
This is an opportunity to shape this new service and truly make this role yours.
Required Skills and Qualifications- A Master's degree in Art Therapy and/or Music Therapy, with current registration through ANZACATA or AMTA.
- At least four years of experience delivering creative therapies to children and young people under 18, ideally within a trauma-informed, child-led framework.
- A deep understanding of inclusive practice and a commitment to supporting children from diverse backgrounds, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, culturally and linguistically diverse, LGBTQIASB+ communities, and those living with disability.
