We are an expanding litigation law firm based in Box Hill, Victoria. Our primary practice areas are commercial litigation; family law and wills and estates litigation.

Role Summary

We are looking for a junior lawyer to join our team. The role will be permanent full-time. Successful candidates will demonstrate a desire to learn, be adaptable, have a high attention to detail and excellent communication skills.

You will receive extensive mentorship in the role and you will have an opportunity for career advancement within the firm.

Key Responsibilities

  • Instructing counsel in court
  • Legal research
  • Discovery review
  • Drafting correspondence and memorandums
  • Proof reading documents
  • Preparing briefs
  • Filing and archive management
  • Liaising with clients and counsel
  • Drafting affidavits, applications, statements of claim and defences in State and Federal jurisdictions
  • Assisting and supporting senior lawyers with litigated matters

Selection Criteria

  • First year lawyer or junior lawyer admitted to practice in Victoria
  • Strong academic record
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to clearly and empathetically take instructions from and communicate with clients
  • Employment experience with a law firm or community legal centre highly regarded
