About the role

We're looking for a hands-on and customer-focused Field Service Mechanic to maintain and repair a wide range of diesel, petrol, and electric-powered equipment, on-site and in-branch.

What you'll do:

  • Carry out on-site servicing, repairs and maintenance across a range of mobile plant and equipment, specifically pumps & generators
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults, dismantle and repair engines, hydraulics and more
  • Perform scheduled maintenance in line with safety and environmental standards
  • Ensure all equipment is "Ready for Hire" and up to Kennards' Quality Operational Management standards
  • Represent the Kennards Hire brand with professionalism and pride during customer interactions

About you

  • Qualified tradesperson (Diesel Mechanic, Fitter, Light Vehicle Mechanic, Small Engine Mechanic or similar)
  • Ideally, you'll have experience working on pumps and generators, and servicing petrol, diesel, and electric-powered equipment
  • Minimum 3 years' hands-on experience in a mechanical service or field service environment
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Confident using digital tools (email, mobile devices)
  • Valid driver's licence and physically fit for field work
  • Strong communication and time management skill
