Young High School is a rural comprehensive high school located in Wiradjuri Country approximately under 4 hours south west of Sydney and under 2 hours from Canberra and Wagga Wagga. We have a strong focus on academic growth and developing resilience, empathy, acceptance and teamwork across the school community. The school has an enrolment of 500 students from diverse cultural backgrounds, including 13% Aboriginal students and an increasing Muslim student enrolment which is currently 8%. In addition, we have a support unit consisting of 5 support multicategorical (MC) classes. The school works closely with the local community.

Selection CriteriaApplicants must satisfy the teacher training and academic qualification requirements for this position. In addition to the general selection criteria,
1Demonstrated capacity to be a strategic school leader who drives data informed initiatives that support the School Excellence Plan, improve student outcomes, and build strong relationships across the school community.
2Proven capacity to lead the development and implementation of curriculum, assessment, feedback, and reporting processes using data and evidence-based pedagogy to improve practice.
3Highly developed emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills with the ability to provide educational leadership that builds capacity and enhances staff collaboration and collective efficacy.
General Selection CriteriaSuccessful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy
