Forbo Movement Systems is an international company and market leader in the lightweight conveyor industry, and we are looking for a motivated and energetic person to join our fabrication and/or service team.

For over 100 years Forbo has been supplying high quality conveyor and processing belts, as well as plastic modular belts, power transmission belts, timing and flat belts. Our belts are used in Food, Manufacturing, Raw Materials, Logistics and Sporting industries.

This position is ideally suited to men or women with mechanical aptitude and an attitude to learn. The role will be based from our Branch & Fabrication Facility in Dandenong South.

Key responsibilities:

• Fabrication, of light weight conveyor and transmission belts.
• Professionally perform conveyor belt joining.
• Professionally represent the company if assisting with installing belts on customer premises.
• Minimal travel to client sites is required (under 25% of working time).
• Competence in the use of hand tools and conveyor belt joining equipment. (can be trained)
• Promote safety by working and adhering to company safety guidelines, which includes but is not limited to the proper use and safe handling of tools, equipment and materials and the use of personal protective gear.

The person we require should be mechanically minded and reliable, as well as able to demonstrate good organisation and communication skills. A current driver's license is required and holding a forklift license will also be an advantage.

You must have a good hands-on approach to work practices and be capable of functioning in a team environment.

To be considered for this role you will ideally have:

• Mechanical experience is favourably considered but aptitude is all that is required.
• Some experience in the conveyor belt and maintenance industry is also preferred but not essential.
• Experience in the Food, Logistics and Raw Materials industries will be helpful but not mandatory.
• Belt splicing skills are preferred but Forbo will provide full training or refresher programs as required.
• Beginner / Intermediate computer skills, proficiency in Word, Excel and Outlook, preferred but not essential.
• Working within the safety standards as protective clothing and equipment (face-shield, gloves etc.) must be used from time to time.
• Be physically fit.
• Ability to travel.
• Australian work rights are required for this position.

The remuneration will be commensurate with experience.
