Project Overview

Following a recent acquisition, we have identified a critical need to overhaul and stabilise the financial processes within this key business unit. The existing finance framework lacks structure, documentation, and transparency. This project requires two highly skilled interim Senior Financial Accountants to conduct a deep-dive investigation into the current state of financial operations, rebuild the financial records, and establish robust processes to ensure accuracy and integrity going forward.

What You'll Do

As a Senior Financial Accountant, you will be responsible for the full spectrum of financial and management accounting. A key focus of this role will be a remediation project to integrate and improve processes following a recent acquisition. Your responsibilities will include:

• Financial Reporting: Managing month-end and year-end closing processes, including the preparation of financial statements, variance analysis, and commentary.
• Process Improvement & Remediation: Taking a lead role in a project to investigate and rebuild the financials for the half-year. This includes validating revenue, ensuring journals are accurate and supported, and completing all outstanding balance sheet reconciliations.
• Business Partnering: Working closely with operational stakeholders to provide financial insights and support decision-making.
• Data Integrity: Ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data within the ERP system.
• Statutory Compliance: Assisting with statutory reporting, BAS, and FBT requirements.

What You'll Need

• Qualifications: CA/CPA qualification or equivalent.
• Experience: Proven experience in a Senior Financial Accountant or similar role, with a strong understanding of month-end, year-end, and financial reporting.
• Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work comfortably with ambiguity and complex data sets.
• System Skills: Experience with ERP systems is essential; specific experience with Dynamics will be highly regarded.
• Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.
• Attitude: A hands-on approach and a continuous improvement mindset.
