The Opportunity
Hudson George Café is seeking a talented and experienced Cook to join our dynamic team. The Cook will be responsible for preparing, cooking, and presenting a variety of high-quality meals that reflect the café's emphasis on fresh, seasonal ingredients. You will work collaboratively to maintain the café's culinary standards, ensuring a memorable experience for our customers. You will be providing assistance and reporting to our Chef.
Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare, cook, and present meals in line with our standards and customer preferences.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic work environment including food storage, preparation areas, and equipment.
  • Liaise with kitchen and front-of-house staff regarding orders and service flow.
  • Perform daily temperature checks of fridges, freezers, and food deliveries.
  • Ensure quality of ingredients and adherence to food safety regulations.
  • Portion, season, and plate meals with appropriate garnishes and accompaniments.
  • Prepare meals to accommodate special dietary requirements.
  • May assist with menu planning and staff training.
Skills Required
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent preferred.
  • Sound knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Positive & proactive attitude
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Versatile, organised and time management skills essential
