Job Description
The Head of Engineering at Lendi Group leads and oversees all cross-functional engineering teams, driving the technical vision, strategy, and execution to deliver innovative solutions that transform the mortgage lending experience.

This role will play a key role in shaping the Lendi Group platform roadmap, ensuring alignment with business objectives, scalability, and reliability. By leading through example, the role empowers teams to deliver high-quality software products that exceed customer expectations.

People

  • Provide strategic leadership and direction to all engineering team leaders, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and innovation.
  • Serve as a mentor and coach to aspiring leaders within the engineering organization, providing guidance and support in their career development journey.
  • Lead the recruitment, hiring, and retention efforts to build diverse and high-performing engineering teams.

Tech

  • Define and execute Lendi's engineering strategy, ensuring alignment with business goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with GM of Tech to establish and enforce engineering best practices, standards, and processes to ensure quality, scalability, and reliability across all products and services.
  • Collaborate with Architects to drive technical excellence and innovation by evaluating emerging technologies, tools, and methodologies and advocating for their adoption when appropriate.
  • Oversee the architecture, design, development, testing, and deployment of software solutions, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets.

Delivery

  • Partner closely with product management, design, and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions that deliverers actual business and customer value.
  • Champion Agile and DevOps practices, fostering a culture of continuous integration, delivery, and improvement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and address technical debt, scalability bottlenecks, and performance issues.
  • Take the lead in establishing cross-team working groups aimed at promoting collaboration among teams across different supergroups and relevant divisions for both technical and product initiatives.

Qualifications
Leadership experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Leadership & Team Management:
  • Extensive experience managing and leading leaders of cross-functional engineering teams.
  • Demonstrated track record of unwavering accountability within team dynamics, ensuring ownership of outcomes even in collaborative environments.
  • Proven ability to recruit, hire, and develop top engineering talent, fostering a culture of learning and growth.
  • Commitment to the career growth and development of team members, with consistently strong 360 feedback ratings.
  • Proficiency in conflict resolution techniques, including coaching and mediation, to ensure team cohesion.
  • Experience identifying and intervening in instances of decreased team engagement or performance in a timely manner.
  • Extensive experience in proactive headcount and engineering resource planning aligned with the product roadmap and broader business objectives.

Technical Experience

  • Strong technical background with expertise in software development methodologies (Agile, Scrum), modern development languages, and frameworks.
  • Extensive experience in solution architecture and delivery, with a proven ability to design scalable, resilient, and secure systems.
  • Demonstrated success in fostering productive partnerships with stakeholders such as Product Managers, Business Analysts, and Designers.
  • Strong adherence to established processes, with a proactive approach to identifying and rectifying deficiencies.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive technical change, build consensus, and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) & Emerging Technologies

  • Proven experience in applying AI and machine learning for both solution delivery (e.g., intelligent automation, personalization, data-driven insights) and software development (e.g., AI-assisted coding, quality assurance, and DevOps tooling).
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate AI technologies into products, platforms, or processes to create measurable business impact.
  • Strong understanding of AI development frameworks, APIs, and cloud-based AI/ML services (AWS, Azure, GCP, or equivalent).
  • Experience leading teams in the responsible adoption of AI, with a focus on ethics, bias mitigation, and compliance.

Other

  • Knowledge of financial service industry, including its regulatory requirements and compliance standards is a plus.
