Humanforce's vision is to make work easier and life better for frontline and flexible workforces.
Humanforce provides the market-leading, all-in-one human capital management (HCM) suite for frontline and flexible workforces, without compromise. Our employee-centered, intelligent, and compliant HCM suite is highly integrated and composable, consisting of Workforce Management (WFM), HR, Talent, Payroll, and Wellbeing.
Humanforce has grown rapidly through four strategic acquisitions, bringing together world-class products and teams. With this growth, we're strengthening our engineering leadership by investing in domain-specific expertise.
We're excited to introduce three specialised Head of Engineering roles, each dedicated to a core product domain. This structure enables deep technical leadership, champions modernisation, and drives innovation, while empowering teams to deliver exceptional outcomes at scale.
For Worker Experience, this means leading the engineering for our Benefits, Rewards and Recognition platforms, as well as our next-generation mobile applications. It is about shaping the worker experience roadmap, enabling seamless customer transitions, and creating intuitive, high-performing solutions that empower frontline employees in their daily work.
Who you areYou are a mobile-first engineering leader who thrives on shaping the future of worker experience. You'll lead engineering for our Benefits, Rewards and Recognition platforms and native mobile applications, including Thrive and our re-architected WFM employee app.
As we sunset legacy applications and migrate customers to our new platforms, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the worker experience roadmap, exploring new technologies and building delightful experiences. This is a hands-on leadership role, balancing technical execution, architectural direction, and mentoring high-performing teams, while collaborating closely with Product, Platform, and CX teams.
What you will do- Own technical leadership across Web, Android and iOS app development.
- Drive the transition from legacy applications to modern mobile solutions.
- Embed in squads to align mobile delivery with roadmap goals.
- Proactively address app performance, scalability, and customer experience.
- Mentor mobile engineers and engineering managers, setting high standards.
- Enable effective execution across squads with a focus on measurable outcomes.
- Proactively unblock teams and resolve cross-functional friction.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to align priorities and manage trade-offs.
- Deliver roadmap items through hands-on technical leadership and architectural vision.
We believe AI will play an increasingly central role across our product domains, and we're seeking engineering leaders who share that vision. In this role, you will be expected to be AI-curious and to incorporate intelligent tools to accelerate and improve development, whether for prototyping, automating routine tasks, analysing data, or enhancing decision-making. You will help shape our AI adoption strategy, defining best practices, ensuring ethical and secure usage, and fostering AI literacy across your team. We'll provide support, tooling, and space to experiment so that using AI becomes a competitive advantage, not a risk.
What you'll need- Deep expertise in Web native development
- Exposure to native Android (Kotlin) and iOS (Swift) development.
- Proven ability to lead large-scale web and mobile app re-architecture projects.
- Familiarity with App Store deployment, mobile analytics, and QA automation.
- Cloud-integrated mobile app experience.
- Practical experience designing migration strategies that minimise risk and downtime in mission-critical SaaS environments.
- Track record of shipping complex, high-impact software using CI/CD practices.
- Skilled at unblocking teams, resolving cross-functional friction, and course-correcting delivery.
- Strong partnership mindset with Product, QA, CX, and Platform teams.
- Experience building, mentoring, and retaining high-performing engineering teams.
- Ability to translate business goals into technical strategy and communicate across technical and non-technical audiences.
- Knowledge of how AI can enhance mobile and employee-facing apps, including personalised recommendations, chatbots, or behavioural insights.
- Familiarity with observability tooling (logging, tracing, metrics).
- Experience leading high-pressure situations such as outages or performance degradations.
- Advocacy for test automation, secure-by-design, and sustainable delivery practices.
- Commitment to continuous learning and staying current with emerging technologies.
- Practical experience deploying AI-powered mobile features or integrating third-party AI services.
