About the Role:

We are seeking a compassionate, skilled, and reliable Support Worker or Nurse who is fluent in English to join our team. The successful candidate will provide high-quality care and support to clients in accordance with their individual care plans, ensuring dignity, safety, and wellbeing at all times.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer medications via PEG feeding as prescribed.
  • Perform basic wound care, including cleaning the PEG site and identifying signs of potential infection.
  • Assist clients with self-care activities such as showering, dressing, grooming, and toileting, promoting independence where possible.
  • Safely operate and assist with the use of hoists and other mobility equipment.
  • Observe, record, and report any changes in client health or wellbeing to the supervising nurse or relevant healthcare professional.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and follow established policies and procedures.
  • Communicate effectively and respectfully with clients, families, and the care team.

Essential Requirements:

  • Fluency in English, both written and verbal.
  • Experience in administering medications via PEG.
  • Proficiency in using hoists and other manual handling equipment.
  • Confidence in assisting with personal care activities.
  • Basic wound care knowledge, including infection detection.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Valid Working with Children Check and National Police Check (or willingness to obtain).
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain).

Desirable Attributes:

  • Degree or Diploma in Nursing (or equivalent qualification).

  • Empathetic, patient, and adaptable approach to care.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
  • Previous experience within the disability, aged care, or community care sector.
