Accounts Officer

Permanent full-time position

We currently have the opportunity for an Accounts Officer to join our Finance team.

Key responsibilities as Accounts Officer…

As Accounts Officer you will ensure the proper operation of Council's Accounts Payable system in accordance with relevant legislation and Council policies. You will also promote the image of Council as efficient, effective and courteous.

What we offer...

  • Permanent full-time role, 35-hours per week
  • Commencing annual salary from $70,119 to $77,306

    (salary is dependent on qualifications, skills and experience)
  • Performance-based salary progression providing the opportunity to earn up to $85,231 per annum
  • Plus 12% superannuation
  • Other lifestyle benefits as outlined below.

What you'll need to be successful in the role...

  • Twelve months experience in an Accounts Payable or Accounts Receivable position
  • An understanding of accounting and administrative principles
  • The ability to plan work and efficiently meet deadlines
  • Proven interpersonal skills to effectively deal with the general public
  • An eye for detail with a high level of data entry skills.

Although not required, it would be beneficial to have:

  • Certificate IV in Accounting or an equivalent qualification
  • Demonstrated experience using an Accounts Payable system
  • Experience using OneCouncil Financial Software.
