About the Role

This role involves providing high-quality technical drafting support to projects, with a strong focus on Revit and BIM. You will assist project teams in delivering accurate and timely documentation within budget, while also supporting and mentoring junior staff. In addition, you'll contribute to the ongoing development of CAD/BIM systems, tools, and Revit families as directed by the National BIM Manager.

Key Responsibilities

• General Operations & Technical Capability

• Deliver high-quality drafting documentation in collaboration with engineers, project teams, and clients.

• Ensure all work complies with Meinhardt's drafting standards, procedures, and project requirements.
• Provide technical support, troubleshooting, and guidance to project and drafting teams.
• Supervise and mentor junior drafting staff, ensuring quality, consistency, and timely delivery of outputs.
• Participate in resource meetings and provide regular updates on project progress and budgets.
• Manage drafting components of projects from inception to completion, maintaining technical accuracy.

Knowledge Management

• Share technical knowledge and best practices within the team.
• Stay current with relevant technologies, drafting tools, and industry standards.
• Support continuous learning and professional development across the drafting team.

Integrated Management System (IMS)

• Comply with Meinhardt's IMS standards, including OH&S and quality requirements.
• Contribute to process improvements and ensure safe work practices are maintained.
• Participate in compliance training and promote a culture of safety and accountability.

Professional Development

• Attend approved training, workshops, and courses to enhance professional skills.

General

• Complete timesheets and administrative tasks accurately and on time.
• Deliver high-quality work that meets client and project expectations.
• Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying and implementing better drafting processes and tools.

Skills & Experience

• Proven drafting experience within the building and construction industry, with strong problem-solving and project delivery skills.
• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit (Structures) with at least 5 years of experience in each.
• Solid understanding of BIM processes and workflows; experience developing Revit Families/Templates is highly regarded.
• Strong technical documentation and analytical skills, with high attention to detail and quality.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and clients.
• Demonstrated ability to manage workloads, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
• Competent in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel).
• Leadership and mentoring capability, with experience supervising or guiding junior drafting staff.
• Adaptable, motivated, and committed to continuous improvement and professional development.
• Relevant qualifications in engineering or drafting (Advanced Diploma, Diploma, or Certificate) and/or equivalent industry experience.
