About the Role

We're seeking a
hands-on, experienced IT Manager
to take ownership of our firm's technology environment. This is a leadership role within a
Professional Services organisation
, responsible for ensuring robust, secure, and efficient IT systems that support every aspect of the business.

You'll lead a small, capable IT team, manage vendors and projects, and play a strategic role in driving technology initiatives that enable growth and performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership:
    Supervise, mentor, and develop IT staff, fostering collaboration and high performance.
  • IT Strategy & Planning:
    Develop and implement IT strategies aligned to business goals, including digital transformation and automation initiatives.
  • Systems Management:
    Oversee all IT infrastructure — networks, servers, cloud services, endpoints, integrations, and cybersecurity. Ensure regular Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery testing.
  • Project Management:
    Lead technology projects such as system upgrades, software implementations, and cybersecurity improvements.
  • Vendor & Stakeholder Management:
    Manage relationships with third-party vendors and internal stakeholders to ensure high-quality service delivery.
  • Compliance & Security:
    Maintain compliance with relevant standards (e.g., data privacy, professional services, and financial regulations) through effective governance and cybersecurity practices.
  • Support & Troubleshooting:
    Oversee the helpdesk function, ensuring timely issue resolution and continuous improvement in processes.
  • Budgeting:
    Manage OPEX and CAPEX budgets, including procurement and cost control.

Key Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in an
    IT Management role
    , ideally within Professional Services (Legal, Accounting, or similar).
  • Strong
    leadership and people management
    capabilities.
  • Deep understanding of
    IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, and business applications
    used in professional environments.
  • Excellent
    communication and stakeholder engagement
    skills.
  • Relevant
    tertiary qualifications
    in Technology plus
    industry certifications
    .
  • Track record of success in a
    hands-on IT leadership role
    within a small, agile team environment.
