About the role

We are seeking an experienced Cook/Chef to join our team at the KHINDA GROUP OF BUSINESSES PTY LTD' in Thornhill Park, VIC. This is a full-time position where you will be responsible for preparing high-quality meals and supporting the overall kitchen operations.

What you'll be doing

  1. Prepare, cook and present a variety of meals to our customers - Proven experience as an Indian Chef, ideally in multiple regional cuisines.

Expertise in South Indian, North Indian, and Indian-Chinese dishes. Skilled in tandoor cooking and curry preparation. Experience making Indian sweets and desserts.

  1. Ensure all food preparation and cooking processes meet health and safety standards
  2. Assist in menu planning and recipe development
  3. Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment
  4. Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure efficient operations
  5. Monitor stock levels and place orders for necessary ingredients

What we're looking for

  1. Proven experience as a Cook or Chef in a similar role within the hospitality industry. The ideal candidates will have extensive experience in Indian cuisine, including North Indian, South Indian, Indian-Chinese, tandoor specialties, curry dishes, and Indian sweets. You will be responsible for preparing high-quality dishes for our restaurant
  2. Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, menu planning and cost control
  3. Excellent time management and multitasking abilities
  4. Ability to work well in a team and under pressure
  5. Passion for creating delicious, high-quality meals
  6. Food safety and hygiene certification
