About the role
Permanent part time opportunity to provide care to frail elderly patients of aged care facilities who present to the Emergency Department of Caboolture Hospital or, at the request of the general practitioner, in the residential aged care facility. In association with the Director, Staff Specialists and Senior Medical Officers, provide clinical care and supervision within the Department of Emergency Medicine in the Geriatric Emergency Department Intervention (GEDI) and Residential Aged Care District Assessment and Referral Service (RADAR).
About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:
Provide medical care to residents of aged care facilities who present to the Caboolture Hospital Emergency both directly and indirectly in partnership with Caboolture Hospital Emergency Department staff.
Provide teaching to trainees in Emergency Medicine and to residents, interns, medical students and nursing staff in the Emergency and Trauma Centre through both formal and ad hoc teaching.
Undertake appropriate research in Geriatric Emergency Medicine, with a focus on multidisciplinary involvement and collaboration with other clinicians internal/external to Caboolture Hospital.
Participate in the Department's Quality Management program.
