We're looking for a Finance Manager to take the reins of the financial operations for Mighty Ape, our New Zealand subsidiary and one of the country's leading online retailers.

Working from Melbourne and travelling regularly to New Zealand, you'll play a critical role in managing reporting, compliance, and performance, while also providing the insights and direction that fuel long-term growth.

You'll be responsible for:
    • Leading the preparation of monthly, half-year, and year-end accounts with accurate reporting, insights, and analysis.
  • Preparing Mighty Ape financial statements and management reports for group consolidation.
  • Analysing financial performance and providing commentary on key business drivers.
  • Overseeing GST compliance, corporate tax, and statutory obligations in New Zealand, ensuring alignment with IRD requirements.
  • Developing and managing annual budgets and forecasts.
  • Delivering ad hoc financial analysis to support operational and strategic initiatives.
  • Partnering with 's Finance team on consolidated financial statements, monthly packs, and board reporting.
  • Managing relationships with auditors and tax advisors for audit and compliance requirements.
  • Driving continuous improvement in financial processes, systems, and internal controls.
  • Supporting business leaders with insights on inventory, trading, and supplier arrangements.
  • Overseeing payroll and ad hoc payments in collaboration with the People & Culture team.
  • Mentoring and developing team members to build capability and foster a collaborative, solutions-focused culture.
To be successful in this role, you should be:
    • University Degree qualified in a relevant field (Commerce, Finance, Accounting or similar)
  • CA/CPA qualified with strong technical and commercial accounting knowledge.
  • Experienced in financial management, reporting, and compliance, ideally with exposure to cross-border operations. Experience within Retail / FMCG / eCommerce or similar will be highly regarded
  • A proven leader with the ability to mentor, influence, and inspire.
  • Comfortable building and maintaining effective relationships, through exceptional communication and engagement
  • Skilled in financial analysis, problem-solving, and stakeholder communication and engagement.
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and continually looking for more effective ways of working.
  • Willing to travel regularly to New Zealand to work closely with the Mighty Ape team.
