The Role

Reporting directly to the CEO, this role is pivotal in managing the financial health of the business. You'll oversee all core accounting and finance functions, ensure compliance and accuracy, and play a key role in stakeholder engagement by presenting financial insights and reports. You will also support strategic growth through budgeting, forecasting, and annual R&D submissions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage day-to-day accounting functions, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, and reconciliations
  • Oversee payroll, superannuation, and statutory compliance obligations (BAS, GST, tax lodgements)
  • Handle banking, payments, and cash flow management
  • Prepare and present monthly management reports, financial statements, and board reporting packs
  • Develop and monitor budgets, forecasts, and financial models
  • Support the CEO with financial analysis, scenario planning, and strategic decision-making
  • Assist with annual R&D submissions and liaise with external advisors
  • Engage with stakeholders, presenting clear and accurate financial information
  • Manage relationships with auditors, external accountants, and regulators
  • Ensure strong internal controls and compliance with relevant legislation
  • Opportunity to be involved with corporate secretarial tasks and responsibilities
  • (Desirable) Apply an understanding of cryptocurrency markets and digital assets to financial processes
About You
  • Degree qualified in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CA/CPA preferred)
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a finance or accounting management role
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge and understanding of statutory requirements in Australia
  • Proficient with Xero, Google Suite, and Excel
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with confidence in presenting financial reports
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability
  • Adaptable and comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
  • An interest in, or experience with, cryptocurrency and fintech will be highly regarded
