The ideal candidate will have excellent creative thinking skills and be able to create designs based on conversations with a client. The candidate should be confident communicating regularly with the client in order to assess their needs and be able to adjust a given approach based on feedback. The candidate should maintain familiarity with the interior design landscape and trends in order to provide the best ideas for clients.
Responsibilities
- Create innovative and functional design concepts
- Collaborate with clients to understand their vision and requirements
- Develop detailed design plans, layouts, and specifications
- Select and source materials, furniture, and accessories
- Coordinate with contractors and suppliers to ensure timely project delivery
- Conduct site visits and offer design expertise during the construction phase
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and incorporate fresh ideas into design concepts
- Assist the team from conceptual to documentation and delivery stage of projects
- 12 months contract role with opportunity to extend
Qualifications
- Minimum 2-3 years local industry experience
- Tertiary qualification in Interior Design/Architecture
- Proficient in ArchiCad
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Strong conceptual skills
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in commercial, hospitality and retail design
- Experience in DA, CC and CDC applications a plus
- Knowledge in industry standards and regulations
- Ability to multi-task, prioritise and meet deadlines
