The Role

Mid-level Interior Designer

We are looking for a passionate and creative Mid-level Interior Designer, ready for a role where you can grow, collaborate with supportive partners and feel truly valued for your contributions.

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign), SketchUp, Enscape and Microsoft Office Suite

  • Passion for sustainable and human centric design

  • At least 4-5 years, full-time experience as an interior designer

  • A relevant degree or diploma in Interior Design or Interior Architecture

In this role, you will work with alkimi's creative team, supporting our Senior Interior Designers and Director on large projects, with the opportunity to lead smaller projects.

Responsibilities

Day-to-day, you will be exposed to all aspects of our studio and interior design projects from concept to execution. You will work closely with our internal and external project teams to create and deliver exceptional spaces for our incredible clients.

To be successful in this role, you have current experience in:

  • All phases of design projects, including client briefing, concept design, sketch planning, design development, documentation, and on-site construction services

  • Producing complete design packages including conceptual and detailed design packages, technical documentation for tender and construction purposes and scheduling of FF&E and more

  • Facilitating and participating in client briefings, workshops and presentations

  • Preparing documentation packages

  • Preparing presentations and communicating designs to stakeholders

  • Managing relationships with various project stakeholders, including project managers, construction partners, suppliers, and clients

  • Coordinating smaller projects and working as part of a team on larger projects

  • Coordinating with external consultants

  • Seeking deep industry knowledge and the ability to maintain industry standards

To be a successful candidate, you have:

  • A genuine passion for design and the built environment

  • A proven track record of creative concept development

  • Strong documentation skills

  • Client management experience and strong communication skills

  • Presentation experience

  • Proven knowledge and application of relevant building codes

  • Ability to manage your own work and work autonomously

  • Ability to be an active contributor, and work collaboratively within our team

  • Exceptional attention to detail

  • Passion for sustainable design

  • Proven ability in the lost art of sketching and drawing by hand
