Senior Implementation Officer, Closing the Gap, Reform 4 (Identified)

 The Closing the Gap Priority Reform 4 (PR4) Program, within NSW Department of Customer Service (DCS), is currently looking for a Senior Implementation Officer to join their team

 About Us

 Between the Department of Customer Service (DCS) will work in partnership with Aboriginal Affairs (AANSW) and the NSW Coalition of Aboriginal Peak Organisations (NSW CAPO) to deliver the Closing the Gap (CtG) Priority Reform 4 (PR4) implementation actions and Aboriginal Data Sovereignty and Governance (ADS&G) reform development work program (PR4 Program). DCS will work with all NSW government agencies on key implementation actions on behalf of the partnership, to improve shared access to and shared decision-making regarding NSW Government-held data for Aboriginal communities.

 Primary Purpose of the Role

 The Senior Implementation Officer will coordinate the delivery of a whole-of-government Shared Data Access Service for Aboriginal Communities, which will be underpinned by a whole-of-government policy and technical enablers. The role will focus on building relationships with Aboriginal data requesters, promoting the Service and contributing to continuous improvement strategies. Additionally, this role will support the broader Priorit

 Reform 4 program through assisting the exploration and implementation of a policy and technical enablers that are culturally informed and responsive to Aboriginal data requestors. This role will be responsible for providing advice and guidance to agencies to solve problems to improve access to meaningful data in a timely way.

 Key Responsibilities

  •  Coordinate the cross-agency network responsible for delivery of the Shared Data Access Service for Aboriginal Communities and to assist network members to support change management across agencies.
  •  Coordinate and respond to multi-agency and complex data requests for Aboriginal communities in a solution-focused and respectful way.
  •  Foster a culture of continuous improvement to processes and practices across the Service network to improve the Shared Data Access Service for Aboriginal Communities.
  •  Analyse and generate insights from the Shared Data Access Service for Aboriginal Communities data request log and cross agency Service network, to drive continual improvement of the Service in a streamlined, relevant and culturally appropriate way.
  •  Conduct, analyse and synthesise research to inform development of a whole-of government policy and related initiatives that agencies can use to increase data sharing maturity and capabilities.
  •  Identify, research and implement promotional opportunities arising from the technical and legal foundation work to drive Priority Reform 4 commitments.
  •  Build the capacity of the Department's central coordination team to provide a culturally informed and responsive service and data policy advice through advice and education as required.

 About You

  •  You are passionate about enabling ethical, innovative and transparent data sharing, particularly in partnership with Aboriginal communities.
  •  Experience building relationships to solve problems relating to the collection, access, management and use of data in government or non-government contexts.
  •  Demonstrated experience in delivering high quality customer service in either the delivery of services or projects, ideally in an Aboriginal policy or service delivery context.
  •  You identify as a person of Aboriginal descent, including submission of supporting document for family's Aboriginal descent and acceptance by their local Aboriginal community as a person of Aboriginal descent.
  •  Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or equivalent, relevant professional experience and training.
