About us

Penfold Projects is a progressive landscape design and construction company, servicing both the residential and commercial markets. For over 28 years, we have been involved in many of Australia's most spectacular and innovative landscaping projects – for a client base that includes large public companies, private enterprise as well as both the State and Federal Governments.

About the Role

This role is ideal for someone who has a strong grasp of construction processes, preparing accurate cost estimates, analysing project specifications, excellent attention to detail, deadline-driven environment and ensuring our proposals are competitive and profitable. You'll work closely with our project managers, designers, and suppliers to prepare accurate and competitive quotes for a wide variety of landscaping and construction works.

Job tasks and responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed estimates and bid proposals for commercial and high-end residential landscape construction projects.
  • Analyze drawings, specifications, and project scope to identify cost-saving opportunities and potential risks.
  • Coordinate take-offs and pricing for materials, labor, and equipment.
  • Source and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes.
  • Collaborate with project managers, designers, and operations teams throughout the pre-construction process.
  • Lead bid strategy sessions and provide recommendations to executive leadership.
  • Maintain estimating database and historical cost information.

Skills and experience

  • 5+ years of estimating experience in landscape construction, site development, or related field.
  • Strong knowledge of landscape construction methods, materials, and industry pricing.
  • Proficiency in estimating software
  • Ability to read and interpret landscape and civil construction plans.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
