About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and dedicated Senior Support Worker (SSW) to join our team in a permanent capacity. The SSW plays a vital role in providing leadership, guidance, and direct care within a SIL environment, who acts as the link between frontline staff, participants, families, and management. The SSW is to uphold NDIS Practice Standards, contribute to compliance, and ensure that participants receive safe, respectful, and empowering support.
This role involves supporting our participants to live independently, ensuring daily routines are followed, and mentoring support workers to deliver high-quality, person-centred support. Your focus is to meet individual participant needs aligned with their NDIS goals while ensuring a safe, efficient environment for staff. You are responsible for providing leadership, coordination and operational support, working collaborating with stakeholders to ensure a high standard of service delivery is met.
The Senior Support Worker will report and collaborate with the Operations Manager and staff to ensure seamless service delivery, promoting healthy lifestyle factors, preventative health care, and overall wellbeing for our participants.
The Senior Support Worker will also play a key role in overseeing staff performance by supervising, mentoring, and providing constructive feedback.
Key Responsibilities
Service Delivery:
- Develop an in-depth understanding of participants needs by providing direct support to the participants in accordance with their NDIS goals and Positive Behaviour Support Plans.
- Promote participants independence, dignity and choice in all aspects of daily living.
- Manage clients personal care needs, coordinating with their individual health care providers, facilitating/scheduling appointments, procurement of supplies and documentation.
Provide hands-on support to participants in line with their NDIS goals, including personal care, household tasks, medication management, and community engagement.
Respond to incidents promptly and follow all reporting procedures.
Leadership:
- Lead and mentor a team of support workers to deliver consistent and person-centered services.
- Ensure compliance with NDIS Practice Standards and organisational policies and procedures.
- Contribute to support planning, goal tracking, and conduct monthly progress reporting to Leadership and Stakeholders.
- Conduct roster allocations and oversee Incident Reporting procedure.
- Conduct weekly SIL Household Audit
- Review Shift Care Forms submission and Progress Case Notes.
- Review and report client's budget and ledgers.
- Conduct staff supervision
- Schedule and lead SIL Monthly Team Meetings.
- SSWs are required to provide After Hours Support based on a rotating roster.
Key Requirements
- Qualified (Minimum of Certificate III in Individual Support, Disability or equivalent) and Experience in the Disability Industry (minimum 3 years preferred).
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
- Leadership abilities to guide, mentor, and support a team while ensuring alignment with organizational values and standards.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build positive repour with participants, and team members.
- Proficiency in basic computer systems for documentation and planning tasks.
- A commitment to creating a positive, supportive, and inclusive environment for participants and staff.
- Must be available for sleepovers and weekend rostered shifts.
What We Offer
- This position guarantees a minimum of 30 hours of permanent part-time hours per week, with the possibility of additional shifts if desired, including days, nights, and weekends. You will also perform designated lead administration duties within this schedule.
