Summary

The Assistant Recreation Manager supports the Recreation Manager in overseeing daily operations of all recreational activities and facilities within the hotel. This role involves supervising staff, ensuring guest satisfaction, maintaining cleanliness and safety standards, and handling administrative tasks as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

Team Support & Supervision

  • Assist in managing and motivating the recreation team to deliver high-quality service.
  • Help assign daily tasks and responsibilities to team members.
  • Support in training and developing staff to meet service standards.
  • Provide coaching and feedback to team members in a professional manner.
  • Lead pre-shift meetings in the absence of the Recreation Manager.

Operational Duties

  • Conduct regular inspections of pool, beach, and recreation areas to ensure cleanliness and organization.
  • Assist in maintaining sanitation standards and ensuring all protocols are followed.
  • Help secure equipment and ensure all areas are clean and organized at the end of operations.
  • Step in to assist with cleaning and maintenance tasks when needed.

Guest Relations

  • Address and resolve guest concerns or complaints promptly.
  • Respond to guest emails and inquiries within 24 hours.
  • Support the management of I-Palapa bookings and guest experiences.

Administrative Support

  • Help prepare and submit monthly reports (e.g., revenue, inventory).
  • Attend departmental meetings as required.
  • Assist with payroll processing and scheduling.
  • Process purchase orders and maintain accurate records.
  • Respond to emergencies and complete incident reports as needed.

Qualifications

  • Refined verbal and written communication skills in English and Spanish.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
  • Outstanding guest service and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in computer systems and administrative tools.
