The Role

We are looking for a Parent Pathway Manager to join the Yilabara team on a full time basis. As a Parents Pathways Manager  you will lead and coordinate the Yilabara Parents Pathways team assisting parents of young children plan and prepare for employment by the time their youngest child reaches school age. Mentors work with parents and assist them access a broad range of external services and complementary programs that consider their individual needs. Services and supports assist parents meet individual needs and goals, help them to care for their family and address both vocational and non‑vocational barriers such as legal, personal (domestic violence), health and environmental (housing) issues. The Yilabara Parents Pathways team operates from offices in Dubbo, Wellington, Walgett and Broken Hill with outreach services provided in Nyngan and Coonabarabran.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Management of the delivery of the Yilabara Parents Pathways program.
  • Provision of strong leadership across the Parents Pathways team.
  • Building the capability and performance of the Parents Pathways team.
  • Ensuring the Parents Pathways team utilises program framework to help parents identify their education and employment goals.
  • Achievement of compliance and contractual KPI's ensuring both volume targets and reporting requirements are met.
  • Monitoring and achievement of Parents Pathways program budget parameters.
  • Establishing relationships with community organisations that provide services that address non-vocational barriers such as mental health, drug and alcohol rehabilitation, domestic violence and housing.
  • Ensuring service delivery in all areas related to the Parents Pathways program is to a high standard and meets all compliance requirements
  • Develop knowledge and understanding of the vision and values of Yilabara and through everyday work demonstrate to team how values are consistently modelled

Essential Criteria

  • Minimum Certificate IV or working towards in Employment Services, Youth Work, Community Services, Social Work or related field
  • Experience in delivering services such as Commonwealth funded employment services, disability services and Out of Home Care.
  • Experience in similar position utilising a strengths and trauma informed approach to developing and supporting the achievement of individualised client support plans.
  • Proven experience in effectively leading, coaching, and mentoring teams.
  • Experience in coordination of volume-based contracts in accordance with compliance requirements, financial milestones, and reporting obligations.
  • Strategic planning, administrative, organisational, budgetary and reporting skills.
  • Proven ability to effectively use information technology, records management and communication systems.
  • Knowledge and of the cultural practices, values and issues that affect parents and Aboriginal people in today's society.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external business units, government and community organisations and suppliers.
  • High level written and verbal communication skills including the capacity to communicate professionally at all levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing demands, prioritise and meet deadlines.
  • Valid National Police and Working With Children (WWCC) Checks.
  • Valid Current Drivers license [min P2]
