About the Role
An exciting opportunity for a Specialist (Fixed Term; Part-time) and Principal (Fixed Term) level have arisen to join the Employee Relations (ER) team.
These roles will provide coaching and advice to Leaders in managing complex employee relations matters.
You will have the opportunity to:
- Supports the strategy, advisory and management of employee and labour relations matters and outcomes within the business.
- Makes evidence based and strategic decisions in alignment with longer term business objectives.
- Identifies, engages and manages a range of diverse internal and external stakeholders.
- Identifies and assesses risks, makes risk informed decisions, uses BHP's risk management framework and builds a risk aware culture to support safe and productive performance outcomes.
- Gains support for and negotiates outcomes that achieve mutually beneficial goals.
- Applies an understanding of the business context, BHP operating model and ways of working to enhance decision making, productivity and value chain performance.
- Engages the capabilities of the entire organisation.
- Strives to achieve 100% safety, 100% customer value and 0% waste.
- Knows our customer and is obsessed with meeting their needs.
About You
- Has a depth of experience supporting leaders across all case management areas of ER including workplace investigations, performance management and disciplinary processes.
- Possesses a strong knowledge of the Australian industrial relations landscape, bargaining and union engagement and legal requirements.
- Previous exposure to working in mining, heavy industry or professional services environment will be beneficial for this role.
- Proactive and strategic in thinking and take a risk-based approach to your work.
- Has experience working in a fast-paced and high volume environment, you are agile in your approach whilst being able to deliver on multiple priorities.
This role will be required to travel to site regularly, approximately 3 days a fortnight.
