Executive Officer – Social Impact and Advocacy

Sydney CBD office (Pitt Street
, with a hybrid arrangement of
three days in the office and two days from home
. Flexibility is expected for occasional attendance outside this schedule.

Executive Officer
to the Social Impact and Advocacy (SIA) Directorate, you'll play a pivotal role in supporting our leaders, shaping our strategic agenda, and ensuring we deliver on initiatives that matter.

About the Role
This is a high-profile, fast-paced role that operates at the heart of the SIA Directorate. You'll act as a trusted advisor to the Directors, ensuring seamless coordination across leadership activities, projects, and governance forums. With oversight of a wide range of strategic and operational priorities, you'll help translate ideas into outcomes and ensure momentum on initiatives that deliver real impact.

Key responsibilities include:

• Advising and supporting the leadership team across a broad portfolio of issues and initiatives, including leadership development, risk planning, and strategic goals.
• Acting as a key liaison and representative for the Directorate, coordinating projects and networks across Uniting and with external stakeholders.
• Developing systems and processes to streamline information flow, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in knowledge and data management.
• Driving and monitoring strategic initiatives, coordinating progress updates and reports.
• Leading the preparation of agendas, papers, and content for leadership and committee meetings.
• Conducting research, preparing briefs, and drafting correspondence for Directors to inform decision-making and engagement.
• Managing a small team, while also taking ownership of projects and initiatives as required.

About You
You bring both strategic perspective and practical delivery skills, with the ability to work across boundaries and influence outcomes in a large, complex organisation.

You will have:

• Degree qualifications in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years' experience in advisory, project management, or leadership support roles.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with confidence to represent senior executives.
• Strong project management capability and ability to manage cross-functional initiatives.
• Experience coordinating high-level meetings, including agendas and content.
• Demonstrated ability to navigate complexity, build strong relationships, and achieve results through influence.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively with executives across diverse portfolios.
• Experience managing small teams, with a proactive, solutions-focused mindset.

It would be even better if you also bring:

• Advisory experience in government, peak bodies, or corporate settings.
• Experience in a values-driven organisation.
• A demonstrated passion for social justice and creating positive social change.
