A growing and diversified group with operations across construction, retail, and property investment is seeking a capable and hands-on Financial Controller to lead the finance function through its next phase of maturity and growth.

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, this role is responsible for overseeing the financial management of multiple entities and trusts, delivering accurate reporting, maintaining cash flow visibility, and supporting commercial decision-making through robust analysis and operational integration. You will play a pivotal role in enhancing financial discipline, systems, and capability across the business.

This is a broad and commercially focused leadership role, suited to a finance professional who enjoys driving both strategy and execution. You will lead the month-end and reporting cycle, maintain group-level financial controls, and oversee compliance across all entities. A key part of the role is ensuring daily cash flow visibility, partnering with business leaders to optimise project and operational performance, and contributing to strategic planning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • End-to-end financial management across multiple trading and investment entities
  • Ownership of month-end close, cash flow forecasting, and internal reporting
  • Delivery of consolidated financial packs and insights for executive review
  • Oversight of statutory compliance including BAS, PAYG, super, and end-of-year obligations
  • Partnering with operations and retail teams to improve margin tracking and budget outcomes
  • Management of insurance, risk, and inter-entity structures
  • Team leadership across finance, administration, and systems
