A high-profile Defence program is seeking a
Software Integration Developer
to join their multi-disciplinary engineering team in Canberra. This role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of
software development and infrastructure engineering
, building complex
Software Defined Infrastructure (SDI)
environments that underpin critical national capabilities.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement software components as part of an
    Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC)
    project
  • Integrate multiple third-party software and hardware systems into a unified SDI platform
  • Collaborate with engineers and architects to plan and deliver secure, scalable solutions
  • Apply
    test-driven development (TDD)
    and CI/CD practices using GitLab
  • Develop and extend
    Ansible modules
    to automate network and infrastructure tasks
  • Produce clear, detailed documentation for software, systems, and integration processes
  • Troubleshoot complex integration issues and contribute to continuous improvement


What You'll Need:

  • 4+ years'
    Python
    development experience
  • Strong background in
    Ansible
    , including module development and automation workflows
  • Hands-on experience with
    network device management
  • Familiarity with
    software-defined infrastructure
    and IaC principles
  • Experience with
    CI/CD pipelines
    , TDD, and collaborative code review
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Current NV1 clearance minimum
    —
    NV2 or PV
    preferred


Desirable Skills:

  • Agile delivery experience
  • Network automation (e.g. Ansible Network)
  • Cloud exposure (AWS or similar)
  • Experience working in
    secure government or Defence environments
