Full Stack Developer – Strategic Data Systems

What You'll Do

Application Development


• Build and maintain full stack web applications focused on data visualisation and user interaction.


• Integrate with existing databases and services to surface operational insights.


• Contribute to the migration of legacy systems to modern cloud platforms.


• Collaborate with senior technical leads to ensure secure, maintainable, and scalable solutions.


• Provide guidance to external teams on integration, process alignment, and pragmatic delivery strategies.

Stakeholder Engagement


• Work closely with analysts, product owners, and operational stakeholders to understand requirements.


• Facilitate clear communication between technical and non-technical teams.


• Support architectural decisions and promote best practices across development teams.


• Engage with cross-functional teams to align on re-architecture, migration, and new product development.


About the Environment

You'll be embedded in a structured, high-integrity environment managed by a mix of contracted and uniformed personnel. The initial project is a standalone, strategic decision support application—ideal for onboarding into the organisation's development workflows, infrastructure, and security practices. Future projects will vary in complexity, offering opportunities to deepen your technical engagement and broaden your impact.

What We're Looking For

Essential Criteria

  • 5+ years of experience developing web applications using
    Angular, Vue, Svelte, or React.
  • 5+ years of experience with
    JavaScript/TypeScript, C# (.NET), and
  • 3+ years of experience with relational databases
    (SQL Server preferred), including advanced SQL and stored procedures.
  • Candidates must hold current NV1 clearance and based in Canberra
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently within a structured organisational culture.

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience working with government or operational systems, translating complex requirements into technical solutions.
  • Exposure to technologies such as
    Python, Kubernetes/Docker, Cloudera, OLAP, and decision support systems.
  • Proven ability to guide external consultancies or agencies, ensuring technical alignment and delivery quality.
