The Role

DesignInc Sydney is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Submissions Specialist to lead the development of strategic bids and proposals that help shape the built environment across Australia. As a key member of the Marketing and Communications team, you will play an essential role in producing compelling submissions that reflect our design excellence, win major projects, and strengthen our brand presence.

This role offers more than just coordination and production; it is a strategic opportunity for a creative thinker and skilled communicator to influence business outcomes and contribute meaningfully to the firm's growth. You will collaborate closely with sector leaders, designers, and technical teams to deliver high-impact proposals that align with our vision and values.

The role includes the follow responsibilities:

  • Submission Leadership -
    Leading and managing the preparation of submissions across the portfolio, including Go/No Go processes, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities and brand standards.
  • Submissions Management -
    Working with sector/discipline leads, proactively managing multiple tender processes of varying scale and complexity, including bid scheduling, compliance, and document production, having full accountability for bid coordination to achieve sophisticated, consistent and highly focused bids and offers.
  • Strategic Contribution -
    Guiding win strategies by shaping key messages, value propositions and differentiators that respond directly to client drivers. Supporting strategies by analysing bid outcomes, identifying trends, and providing insights to improve win rates.

This is a 'hands on' role and we need a real team player with a positive attitude to take on each new task, no matter how big or small.

To be successful in the role you will have/be:

  • Formal Business or Marketing qualification
  • Minimum of 5 years' Bids and submissions experience
  • Advanced computer skills in Adobe suite (especially InDesign)
  • Verbal and written communication skills
  • Enthusiastic with a positive attitude
  • Approachable with strong organisational and time management skills
  • Able to multitask with high level of attention to detail
  • The ability to engage and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders across all levels
