Are you passionate about making a difference in Indigenous education and culture? Balmoral State High School is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Teacher Aide (Identified) to support student success and lead meaningful cross-cultural engagement across our school community

This position is being offered in a Temporary Part-Time capacity (0.79FTE), 60 hours per fortnight.

This temporary vacancy is open to Expressions of Interest and any extensions to this appointment will not exceed 12 months.

Step Into Your Next Chapter

  • Support the learning, wellbeing, and cultural engagement of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.
  • Assist teachers with classroom activities, school events, and student supervision.
  • Help deliver cross-cultural awareness initiatives across the school.
  • Prepare learning resources and provide small group or one-on-one student support.
  • Support student welfare, including administering first aid if qualified (school-funded training available).

Must-Have Skills & Experience

  • Identifies as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and cultural knowledge.
  • Ability to work with sensitivity, confidentiality, and respect.
  • Willingness to complete First Aid training.

Nice-to-Have

  • Experience working in schools or with young people.
  • Understanding of Indigenous education and cultural priorities.
  • Basic digital and organisational skills.
